Vaccinate or Perish: Is it so?

“We occasionally stumble over the truth but most of us pick ourselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened” – Winston Churchill

Obviously I touched  nerve in the community with my comments about vaccination in my last post, so rather than reply individually I have decided to provide more information as to why my worldview is different to that of the mainstream.

I do recognise that vaccines are a touchy point for everyone… however it is so important that you do not just assume that because government and the scientists (that are often funded to do studies by the very company that sells the vaccine… can anyone spell conflict-of-interest here) tell you that they are OK that they must be. In this engineered society the biggest problem is that people do not have the time to do their own research into these areas (or choose not to as the case may be, which is easier).

So why is the issue of vaccination seen to be so important by everyone… it is the one area that if spoken against is the most likely to provoke a strong reaction? The simple answer is fear… and understandably so with all those graphic accounts of death and suffering that our ancestors clearly went through. I am not in any way denying that infectious disease was (and still is) a hideous and present danger.

But, I hate to be the bearer of bad news folks but you have been lied to. You have also been programmed… and this has been done so well that sadly most will leap to defend vaccination (and hence the multinational coporations that provide them) without even a moments hesitation.

If anyone is spluttering and fuming now then you can stop reading and I’ll stop challenging your belief system. You have the freedom to believe anything you like and this is just my view (backed up by years of research on this topic, but you can ignore that if you like)… so rather than increase your blood pressure best to leave now. For the rest, please read on and see how you have been taken for a ride. Up to you what you do with the information after that.

I will address two comments that I received on Facebook and then go from there. To the people that posted them, please do not take this as a personal attack. I have been there with the same comments by many others in the past… I am just using your words as an indicative example.

The first comment was that “… you cannot argue immunisation isnt safe and effective, thats just wrong and dangerous.”

Yes, I used to think like that as well. Then I started reading and researching.

The two best ways to sell something are fear and sex. Now as yet I have not seen sex used in conjunction with vaccination, but I’m sure they are working on it. The fear issue here is the giant red button and revolves around the idea that if everyone does not vaccinate then we will all perish in a horrible pile of pus, vomit and blood… probably screaming in agony as our organs liquify and our eyes explode.

Fear is a the perfect control machanism (and also certainly serves a purpose for our survival of the physical body) for anyone seeking to dominate or influence another. As fear originates in the reptile part of our brain it can bypass all the reasoning and intuitive side… which is good for survival in a flight / fight response but not so good if we want a better life!

Vaccine proponents tell us that the use of vaccines is responsible for the virtual elimination of many childhood scourges that used to ravage the world. The fear button is pushed as we are told that in past many diseases killed a large number of people and that vaccines were invented and stopped these diseases from being a threat.

But is this in fact the case? The short answer is no… but on the face of it we cannot help but assume (with everything we have been told) that vaccines must have played a key role in improving all of our lives. But in actually looking carefully at the evidence over a longer period of time a very different picture of disease evolution and the role vaccines have played is revealed.

So, lets look at some evidence shall we. Remember I am not a doctor and I do not claim to be one… I prefer to let the doctors make their own observations… so here are just a few:

“During the last two decades of the 19th century diphtheria was the leading cause of death of toddlers in the industrialized world, in some cities killing more than a thousand in a single year. In contrast, since 1980 fewer than 100 cases have been reported in the entire United States. Although diphtheria is hardly the only infectious disease to have thus faded, its story is unique because the early period of its decline can be directly linked to advances in bacteriologic knowledge and practice. Between 1880 and 1930 health authorities in New York City were responsible for much of the practical innovation in the control of diphtheria, as well as a good share of scientific progress.” [1] [my emphasis]

” … The largest historical decrease in morbidity and mortality caused by infectious disease was experienced not with the modern antibiotic and vaccine era, but after the introduction of clean water and effective sewer systems.” [2]

“Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine arrived on the scene only after disease mortality rates already had been reduced significantly; measles, rubella, and polio vaccines did not become available until the middle of the 20th century, when most infant deaths were the result of other causes. The same holds true for sulfa drugs and antibiotics. Their contribution is unequivocal, but they did not affect mortality rates until the 1940s.” [3] [my emphasis]

“There was a continuous decline [whooping cough deaths], equal in each sex, from 1937 onward. Vaccination, beginning on small scale in some places around 1948 and on a national scale in 1957, did not affect the rate of decline if it be assumed that one attack usually confers immunity, as in most major communicable diseases of childhood.”

“… The steady decline of whooping cough between 1930 and 1957 is predictive of a linear exponential decay characteristic of a general and progressive lessening in the volume and spread of infection among the susceptible population. With this pattern well established before 1957, there is no evidence that vaccination played a major role in the decline in incidence and mortality in the trend of events.” [4] [my emphasis]

“The distinguished epidemiologist Thomas McKeown (1912-1988) maintained that reductions in deaths associated with infectious diseases (air-, water-, and food-borne diseases) cannot have been brought about by medical advances, since such diseases were declining long before effective means were available to combat them.” [5]

The information we are given by vaccine proponents tend to be simple statements such as “in the 1920s, over 10,000 people a year died from diphtheria… after we introduced our vaccine the rates dropped over 90%”. This is a sales statement, it’s just that most people do not see it. Here the figures are accurate but the statement itself is misleading as they have provided historical fact without context. By mixing the facts with the word vaccine, this leads the reader to erroneously conclude that vaccines were instrumental in the massive declines of deaths from these diseases.

For the visual learners amongst us, here is a lovely graph showing what was happening with the majority of infectious diseases in America over time (courtesy of heathsentinel.com, please click the image to enlarge).

Folks, vaccines did not wipe out the diseases. They were already in decline simply as our knowledge of disease transmission improved… and of course as our nutrition improved (although our “modern” diet is reversing this).

In response to another Facebook comment that “TB and Polio were virtually wiped out of Australia once vaccinations started“, well it’s not the vaccines that did that. I’ll just use TB as an example here, but rest assured that polio (also now sometimes diagnosed as MS because “it can’t be polio… that’s been irradicated by vaccines”) is also simular.

“TB does not come and go in epidemics like meales and polio do. It is always there, and it is always looking for an opportunity to make people sick. It is caused by a bacterium that can attack any part of the body, but most commonly chooses the lungs. The bacteria are found living in the throats of a high percentage of the population, but only people who are run down become sick from it. Damp housing, malnutrition and chronic tiredness are risk factors that predispose a person to TB…” [7]

So for a start TB has never been been irradicated. You can’t. It is there in us always, just waiting for a chance…

“Although nearly one third of the word’s population carries the tuberculosis bacteria, only about 0.2 percent of those infected with tuberculosis (TB) actually develop a clinically significant infection. This fact indicates that something other than the bacteria itself is responsible for developing the disease.

Several studies have appeared in the last decade, indicating that vitamin D is one of the major keys that dictate whether you will actually develop the disease. These studies have all come to the conclusion that vitamin D deficiency sets off the disease if you are a carrier of the bacteria.

One previous study was able to show an astonishing 100 percent resolution rate by treating TB patients with 10,000 units of vitamin D daily (compared with the 400 units usually advocated by conventional medicine).” [6]

More interestingly the TB vaccine itself has actually been linked to increases of TB in a communities [8][9]. Unfortunately this is actually rather common for vaccines (espcially the MMR vaccine which has now been shown to cause measles outbreaks), but I’m sure you can go and do some research yourself if interested.

Vaccine proponents will also tell you that “if enough people are vaccinated then the disease will die out”. This is also referred to as “herd immunity”. Again, the actual evidence totally disproves this claim.

“When there is no outbreak of infectious disease, they [the vaccine proponents] say that herdimmunity is working very well, but when an infectious germ becomes virulent in the environment, and herd immunity is seen to fail, they make the excuse that a different mathematical formula should have been used.” [10]

I’ll just look at one example here for the sake of brevity, that of measles… which is part of the MMR vaccine that is prescribed under the National Immunisation Program Schedule here in Australia.

According to the “science” of vaccination if 55% of children are immune then epidemics cannot develop[11]. Shame the measels virus cannot read and listen to the propaganda and even with 100% immunisation in a population measles still comes back. For exmaple when Hungary was under communist rule the measels vaccine enforced on the population and they had a 98% vaccination rate for over 14 years and they gave “booster” doses. The scientists all stated that within 20 years the measles virus would die out if this level of vaccination was maintained[12]. It did not work and measles ourbreaks continued to occur.

Herd immunity is a myth. If vaccines really did work then ayone vaccinated could not get the virus and any unvaccinated person could not be a risk. If vaccines work you would get the promised “life long immunity” and you would not require “booster” injections. Any child that has one of the childhood diseases naturally does indeed get life-long immunity.

The ingredients of vaccines really just say it all. Here is the ingredients in the MMR vaccine: “Measles, mumps, rubella live virus, neomycin sorbitol, hydrolized gelatin, chick embryonic fluid, and human diploid cells from aborted fetal tissue.”[13]

Does injecting your children with DNA fragments from multiple viruses, bits of other peoples aborted babies, mercury (a neurotoxin), aluminium (also a neurotoxin), pus scraped off cows that are infected with cow-pox (and suffer incredibly as a result) sound like science to you?

The vaccine industy has huge profits behind it and often twists results and words to keep the dollars flowing in their direction. The vaccines assaulty on a newly devloping immune system and brain (i.e. our children’s) I propose ensures lots of sick, disfunctional people that are an additional source of alternative revenue for the same corporations.

The Polio Global Eradication Initiative (PGEI) was founded in 1988 by the World Health Organization, Rotary International, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This organisation holds up India as a prime example of its success at eradicating polio, stating on its website that “On 13 January, India crossed one year in which no child was paralysed by polio – for the first time in history. The lone polio case in 2011 was reported in a two-year-old girl in Howrah, close to Kolkata, West Bengal.”[14]

But according to the Polio Global Eradication Initiative’s own statistics (on the same page as the previous statement) there were 42 cases of wild-type polio (WPV) reported in India in 2010 (see below). This shows  that vaccine-induced cases of polio paralysis (100-180 annually) outnumber wild-type cases by a factor of 3-4.

Even if we put aside the important question if PGEI is accurately differentiating between wild and vaccine-associated polio cases in their statistics, we still must ask if the real-world effects of immunisation (both good and bad) must be included in PGEI’s measurement of success?

For the Indian children who develop vaccine-induced paralysis every year (let along those in other countries) the PGEI’s declaration of India as nearing “polio free” status is simply a lie and could be considered an attempt to minimize obvious liability in having transformed polio from a natural disease vector into a man-made (iatrogenic) one.

I believe that the vaccination game is twisted and does not serve the interests of our children, it does however serve the interests of the global elite’s depopulationist and control agenda. I consider it a basic human right to choose what is injected into my children’s and my own bloodstream… perhaps you do not agree? Certainly there are doctors (more information here) and our own Fabian-society member primeminister Julia Gillard that believes that we do not have this right (see here).

The question at the end of the day comes down to this. Are you willing to spend the time to see the deceptions that are being promoted by the global elite and their multinational corporations and then act? I am and I will.

Please take the time to watch this documentary and you tube videos before sending any comments or emails. Also read “Raising a Vaccine Free Child” by Wendy Lydall (http://www.vaccinefreechild.com) which goes though every single argument for vaccination that I have every heard and eliminates them with fully-referenced and peer reviewed medical studies to this fact. Enjoy and take the time to find your truth. This is mine.

Chemtrails Over Paradise: September 2011 to December 2011 at Tanen

Hi Everyone and welome to this latest installment of the Tanen Blog, a bit of a long time coming but it’s here at last. It’s also a really long one.

I actually started typing this entry when I was up in Perth during the “liberation” of Libya (more on that later) doing some training for my other job in Albany and that event combined with some others on the farm means that this blog post is a bit more confrontational than my normal posts… I’ll start though with some updates on activities over the last few months and what we have been up to, before getting to the brain food.

Something I forgot to mention in our last post was the arrival of our newest family member, Panda the Border Collie. Not sure how I forgot to mention her since she is everywhere… all the time. Here she is being cute and puppy like. She’s a few months older now, but a gratuitous puppy photo is always good.

We did some extra fitting to the guest accommodation, adding a kitchenette, to make it a bit more self-contained which has been a hit with our guests.

October was mostly taken up by the construction of my new outdoor sacred space… this was built to concide with the celebration of the Spring fire festival of Beltane which we held on our farm at the end of the month.

Although we were expecting the rain to let up somewhat (as per my optomistic last post), this was certainly not the case. It continued to rain all the way up to just before Christmas. Our fire festival celebration turned out to be a bit soggy… this was my “construction” path through the swamp to the circle.

And of course with all the rain into the summer period there have been an insane number of rainbows. This one ended n the paddock next door… perhaps I should have gone and got the spade and started digging? Could do with some gold…

It was our second Christmas here at Tanen. Theoden had a chance to see his dad dressed up in a silly costume… not sure if he thought I actually was Father Christmas or if he was just humouring me.

We also went to the community Christmas event where Theoden got to see a real 1950′s fire engine (completed with a Father Christmas arriving on top) and get his face painted… and its a moth NOT a butterfly as I was told by his emminence.

Our new baby is coming along well (as you can see below). Alice is looking forward to getting him out now as his is exceedingly wiggly and she is running out of room to move any more organs around in there!

Those who know me know that I have spent many, many years researching and investigating the nature of “reality”. It is not enough for me just to accept the way things are, just because most people accept that “that’s the way it is”… this is not acceptable.

Do you ever stop to ask the real questions about Humanity as a whole? Just where are we going? What do we actually want? Why is the world like it is?

Do you realise that in just one week the entire world could be changed into a paradise if only Humanity actually wanted it to happen? Have you ever asked yourself why not?

The System / Government / Religion / Division has been introduced into our lives by design, cunningly worked in such a way as to ensure that we think the way those in control want us to think and keep us distracted from making the changes that we have to make. For me, I now employ the non-comply dance with all things that seek to enslave us… why… well, let’s get started shall we…

Chemtrails Over Paradise

Most people have never been told about chemtrails… and if you ask many people probably just accept the lies propogated by the control system that they are just “contrails” from aircraft. Well, first watch this video I took over my farm in September and then read on.

Do you have any idea how angry this makes me! These people are poisoning my family! Chemtrails destabilise the human immune system by poisoning the very land we grow our food and receive our water from using the gradual buildup of toxic levels of aluminium, barium and strontium through repeated application. Can I hear you saying that the government are our friends and would never do anything like that… well take some time to educate yourself and watch this documentary below.

NATO

Your tax dollars support the Australian Military. Australia is a signatory to NATO. Lets see our $$ at work then shall we… beware this video is extemely disturbing. I cried for some time after watching it. Sixty seconds that you will never be able to forget.

But never mind, they are just brown-people in another country… doesn’t matter does it? We still have to go on supporting the government, after all we need to be “governed”…. can’t take care of ourselves…. all all those nice corporations and the pharmacutical giants want us to be happy and healthy? Well, how about this little thing that is so “good for us”. Supported, of course, by the Heath Department of <insert your state here>….

Fluoride

There is even more information about the use of fluoride in Australia in the excellent Australian documentary “Fire Water”. You can educate yourself some more by watching the movie online by clicking this link.

If you would like to read the government’s take, by all means… here is one of my favourites http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/resources/cohs/pdf/fluoridation_brochure.pdf. Yes, they care for us so much… quick let’s all go and get some…

Vaccinations

Yes, many scientists have proven the benefits of injecting yourself with mercury, aluminium, formaldehyde and live strains of highly dangerous viruses. Perfectly safe…. err… oh damn, that’s right…

  • Vaccines have actually never been proven safe or effective.
  • Cause serious health side effects, such as autism and death.
  • Make billions of $$$ of profit for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Are made from aborted fetal tissue, 59 different chemicals, DNA from diseased animals and more.
  • Vaccinated children have far worse health outcomes than unvaccinated children (http://www.naturalnews.com/033858_unvaccinated_children_health.html)

Do you think this is all made up? Nick’s just being delusional… well how about some light reading from some more doctors and specialists about vaccines, you can click here if you like… or if you are more the visual media type you can watch this interesting interiew with Dr Andrew Wakefield by using this link.

Thimerosal is a widely used vaccine preservative that is present in the majority of flu shots and other vaccines. Thimerosal is 49% mercury by volume, an extremely toxic chemical element that wreaks havoc on the nervous system, neurological function, and overall biological function. Yes, that’s right the government loves us. It wants us to be free and joyful. That’s why we have to get rid of those pesky incandescent light bulbs… gotta save the planet now don’t we? Soon it will be “mandatory” (bah, who needs freedom to choose anyway). We need to have…

Compact Fluorescent  Light (CFL) Bulbs

So wonderful. Such a fantastic invention. OH NO… I broke one and now I have to follow the instructions from the Environmental Protection Agency to clean it up. Quick now you only have a few minutes before your health is dangerously at risk… click here for your instructions.

All CFL’s contain mercury. Mercury is a neurotoxin, is especially damaging to undeveloped and developing brains (ie fetuses and children). Considering that 25 micrograms of mercury is considered unsafe by the EPA for any human under 550 pounds, the devastating health effects of mercury are truly concerning.

It is very clear to me that the government wants mercury in your homes… otherwise why would they mandate that we have to use CFL’s?

And hopefully you have had no fillings. Have you ever watched all the protective gear that the dentist and his helper have to use to prepare the filling… apparently it’s safe though in your mouth, just never try to remove it, and don’t worry about the leeching into your digestive system.

Nuclear Contamination

Just because it’s not on the news, it must be all OK now. That is what these sociopaths that have inserted themselves into positions of power in our society want you to believe. The corportate media giants do not work in your interests, they are repeaters NOT reporters and most of their information is pre-packaged and delivered for them.

The resultant contamination with nuclear materials of our planet that unfolded around Fukishima is possibly the most serious and ongoing disaster ever. Again, if you want to really know what is happening visit http://www.enenews.com for independent research and facts around this event. I also invite you to listen to what Dr Helen Caldicott (and Australian anti-nuclear activist) has to say:

There are also some people out there that actually are investigative journalists. The real deal. If you want a very insightful take on what just does-not-add-up with Fukishima please spend a few minutes reading this report by Jim Stone at his website http://www.jimstonefreelance.com/fukushima1.html. Food for thought.

We do not need nuclear power based on enriched uranium. There are better technologies out there to generate power (see http://sustainablepowerstation.com which is operational)… but even if we still wanted to use nuclear energy reactors based on Thorium are far safer and more effecient… but they do not produce enriched uranium as a by-product for making Nuclear Weapons and Depleted Uranium Munitions. Sick, sick, sick. And the corporte media went into full brainwashing mode with all of this, perhaps you remember that pile of stinking nuclear energy propaganda at the end of Sixty Minutes (see here). I want to vomit.

Do you actualy realise that it only takes four days between loss of power to the cooling ponds for a nuclear reactor to catch fire and poison the planet. There are currently approximately 440 reactors world-wide. Many are on flood plains and fault lines. Think about it.

Schooling

When I starting doing my teaching degree at Murdoch University I remember being taught in one of the units the three purposes of education (in order):

  1. Childcare
  2. Socialisation
  3. Education

The school system as we know it is actually a very recent thing. The system wants you to believe that you are lucky to be able to send your children to school, that this is in the best interests of your child and that the system knows what is best for your child.

Now don’t get me wrong here. I am very much in favour of children being able to learn about the world around them and engage in life-long self-directed learning. However I strongly oppose what is occuring in public school systems across the globe. It is NOT education, it is a system that: 1) Keeps children away from their parents to ensure that both parents are able to “work” and hence taxed; 2) Teaches conformity and the “correct worldview” that the system seeks to promote (truth is irrelevant, obey, do not question / do not think); 3) Ensures that the education recieved is dragged out over as long a period as possible (see point one) and is designed to ensure left-brain dominance and fractured thinking.

There are educational models in existence that are infinately superior to the one that is foistered on us by the control system… yet it stays. Why? Easy answer, it suits those who are controlling us. The last think they want from their slaves is a populace that is capable on independent thought and critical analysis.

If you want a school system that is in the interests of the child you need to look no further than a Russian model called “The School” (you can read more about this here and get DVD about it here). The children that attend this school typically cover all eleven years of mainstream education in just one year and then move on university. They are “normal” children. Our system is NOT designed to educate, it is designed to enslave.

Alien Invasion?

Conclusion

So what can we do about all of this? I’ll leave you to digest and think and read for a while… stay tuned for my next post where I will being going into details on how to save our families and make it through the year alive, happy and healthy.

Peace, truth and love everyone.

The Long Wet: June to September at Tanen

When the rains start here at Tanen there is little you can do. Just buckle down and watch the ground go soggy. Moving around becomes relegated to the gravel areas, even by foot you risk a shoe full of water. In theory as the days become shorter it is a time to turn inward and plan for the return of the longer days… but I’m still scratching my head a bit wondering what happened in all those months. One moment it was the end of May and the next it was the end of August. Our lives (and I think most peoples) right now are just way too busy. There seems to be an exponential speeding up of time as our consciousness experiences it… for what reason, well I suppose that remains to be seen.

Basically I spent most of June with a cough that induced vascular headaches. Nasty things. Any physical activity made me sound like I was dying and then I would almost fall over in pain from the reaction to the cough. Not fun, but farm living does not relent when one is feeling poorly…

The big event in June was of course our goatlings being born, which I blogged about a while back now. Now they are bigger and more active. Here they are with Latte out and about…

You would look like that too if you had them on you...

Thoden has been busy chasing them, which he find most amusing, I think the goats do as well. We *do* try to teach him to be calm…. like trying to tell a tornado to be a cloud. We captured this shot of him smooching a goat…

Awwwwww.....

Our newly planted vegetable gardens are in and working wonderfully. We have also put in a few varieties of garlic and more potatoes, so it will be interesting to see which ones do the best. We also managed to score some freaky local garlic that apparently grows only in the Porongurup Ranges and is harvested by an Aboriginal man who knows the secret location. Will tell you if it induces hallucinations.

Abundance is good!

Alice has also been enjoying the company of the goatlings and the goats in general.

Alice with her star sign animals

We lost most of July with some exciting news that we have another little one on the way and getting ultrasounds and all that done. We are hoping this time for a little girl… so it will be interesting to see if my visions during mediation are correct as I have been seeing a little girl for some time now during meditations. We will find out next week…

August was high drama with my mum having a stroke… so we lost most of August travelling to Perth to support her through this difficult time for her. She is well on the mend now though, although very tired.

As it was one year on the 11th of August looking back is always an interesting experience. The big goal that I had when we moved here has not progressed much… that being the concept of micro-community based on spiritual permaculture. Although there is a good level of interest, there is a large gap between interest and taking action for most. On the positive side, our self-sustainability has moved forward… although we are not yet ready to run permaculture training yet as our permaculture gardens are not fully established… and the food forest was a disaster (but I do have some lovely dead sticks if anyone would like them).

After much work on the cottage, I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to keep warm. I’ve insulated it to death, and still there are cold drafts that lurk around the ankles. Even the old incense stick failed to reveal the locations of these eldritch drafts… so Alice and I have decided to sell off our rental house in Perth and build a new home higher up the hill (hopefully it is less windy there).

The cottage will then become free for a few possibilities:

  1. Workers accommodation for the olive harvest.
  2. Rental for holidays for the stressed and depressed.
  3. School for establishing a Green School like that in Bali.

I personally like that last option. Dream high, dream high…

I recently came across this animation which contains some truths about how the global “elite” behave. Well worth some thought.

As usual I will close with a quote… this time from Henry Makow Ph.D that “Modern society is dedicated to fulfilling the greed of a tiny cabal of psychopaths.” Sad, but so true. Look at the You Tube video “Defence against the Psychopath” if you have time… I’ve known a few…

Stay free. Hug a tree. Swing in a hammock. Peace out everyone.

Just in Case: Elenin, Obama, Defcon 1 and Denver

On the off chance that a few things converge and turn out to be true I just want to let you all know to prepare a bit. The nutters that are in “control” of our world have a nasty habit of using training exercises as a cover for false flag events and other nasties, for example during 9/11 NORAD had all its fighter jets off over the Atlantic doing a training exercise about terrorists flying planes into buildings… the Norwegian police were training for a bomb to go off at the location the bomb actually went off just one hour beforehand… the English police were running training exercises involving exactly the same scenario at exactly the same time that the London Bombings occured. There are lots more examples of this kind of stuff so feel free to look yourself if interested…

So, now on to a possible very nasty one that could be scheduled for the 27th of this month (that is in a week if you’ve lost track of time like I tend to :) ). The 27th is a rather interesting day as we have comet Elenin at it’s closest approach to Earth (which is surrounded by all sorts of prophecies, hope it’s all rubbish), Obama and a bunch of the miltary brass have been ordered to conduct a Defcon 1 (that’s full-scale nuclear war, not that I think this is what is happening) “training” exercise in Denver… which also has the freakest and hell-inspired artwork in an airport ever (see here) and by many accounts also has a huge underground miltary base right beneath it. It is also at the longitude and latitude specified in the movie Close Encounters of Third Kind.

The other thing that raises the possible incidence of some kind of event on that date is the nutters obsession with multiples of eleven, which in numerology is a power number. Obama is the 44th President of the United States. The 27/09/2011 is 2+7 = 9, 9+9=18,18+2+0+1+1=22. They would really like that one because it is symetrical to the presidency. It is also a Tuesday. Tuesdays are also associated with the planetary influence of Mars, and even the average Joe knows that Mars is traditionally associated with wars, military prowess and disasters. The other thing about Tuesdays is that it also maximises media exposure to the public…

Lastly the local Aboriginal Elders down here in the southwest have been having dreams that on that date a tidal wave will hit that will travel 200kms inland.

I might be paranoid but just in case I’m not, grab a bit of extra food and bottled water and think a bit about looking after yourselves and those you love. Worst case you’ll be eating some canned carrots :) over the next few months… if I’m right you will be in a better place than most. Peace out everyone…

The Bountiful Goat Special

Sometime on Wednesday (when we were not looking) our white goat Latte gave birth to twins, a girl and a boy (we have named them Moccha and Zebadee). Tales of attempting to milk her in a few weeks will be sure to follow…

Update

Just when we thought that was our goatlings for the season, Coco suprised us with a huge baby doe on Saturday night. She did not even look pregnant so it was a big suprise for us. Our new doe is called Expresso because she has black bits, is strong and came out really fast.

A New Hope: May 2011 at Tanen

Another month as flown by here at Tanen and with the cooler weather and not too much rain yet, Alice and I have been very busy outdoors getting our winter food crops in.

We started May building our new raised garden beds. I wanted a design that incorporated both permaculture principals as well as being easy to build. In addition, after my previous potato garden was overun by Kikuyu, I needed to ensure that it would be effectively blocked out this time around. After some thought I came up with a design using a cross shape. This allows easy access to all areas of the garden beds as well as space for a pond in the middle to increase insect biodiversity and hopefully bring in the frogs.

We started by using some recycled jarrah sleepers over the top of an old plastic tarp (to shade out the grass). Over this we then added a few layers of carboard.

Weed suppression permaculture style....

As this design incorporates the no-dig approach to gardening we needed to create three layers of organic material. The first layer provides organic material to rot down over the next twelve months into good compost.

The two broad categories of compost materials are high-Carbon (woody, brown, dry) to high-Nitrogen (fresh, wet, green). The microbes that work in the compost need a starting ratio of approximately 30 Carbon to 1 Nitrogen to get all excited – thus as good heap designers, this is what we should be aiming for. If you get excited by carbon / nitrogen ratios, there are a number of good charts (such as the one here)… but basically you want to alternate green stuff with brown stuff.

In our case we have loads of lawn clippings, so in they went to start with… along with  a good watering. You need a nice wet pile.

Theoden watering in the base material

Next is our carbon layer. In my case I wanted both the carbon and some extra nutrients, so my muck-of-choice was pig poo mixed with straw.

Adding the compost

Then it was time to add the frog pond. I had some old black plastic sheeting and a large plastic flower pot, so I just dug a hole in the middle of the bedding and pushed the flower pot wrapped with plastic. Then got an old car tyre and put that around the outside. Its a bit hard to see in the photo below… but the next one is clearer.

Adding the frog pond

This final step in creating this garden-bed masterpiece is lots of mulch to help reduce water loss… and as a bonus later on, once all our food has grown and been harvested, we can just add more green stuff to the top and start the process all over again. You can see the car tyre pond here more clearly as well.

Top mulching

Of course, the whole purpose of this is to plant things in it. The easiest way in this kind of garden bed is simply to make holes in the top mulch…

Holes in the mulch ready for a seedling

Then we just get our seedling and make a “mud ball” using some soil / potting mix around its roots.

A seedling in a mud ball

This fine creation can then be simply placed into the hole we made… and we then just repeat the process for each seedling.

Seedlings added to garden bed

We will be sure to show you an updated photo next month of the results… so stay tuned.

On the subject of rasing seedlings for the garden beds, I’ve always wanted to try solar greenhousing… and the cold and winds here make it even more practical as raising seedlings has proved challenging.

We were contacted earlier in the month by Dan who was interested in the settlement project, so when he came to visit it was an opportune moment to get the concrete slab done for a greenhouse.

Can we build it... yes we can...

As you can see from the photo above we had a perfect day to mix concrete. Not one of my most favourite activities, but necessary to both hold the greenhouse in place and also provide some thermal mass (the concrete holds heat from the day and radiates it back into the greenhouse at night).

Wet concrete is weird stuff, kind of like The Blob...

After Dan left, I had to wait several days for the concrete to cure… and then the real fun started. I had purchased a kit from Bunnings prior to getting the slab done. Opening it was a bit like Pandora’s box, things just kept coming out.

The instructions said it would take half-a-day to errect, so I thought starting at lunch time would be fine. Hmmm, right. Obviously they meant that it would take half-a-day for someone who builds these things for a living. By the end of that day all I had managed was to get the sides up… and it was Monday… so I had to go to work for the next three days before I could finish it… and on the third day we had  storm. Yep, a classic example of Murphy’s Law. I was out there at 2am in the morning trying to reinforce the thing… in the rain…

The next day, after unbending the struts and not feeling quite as depressed about the whole thing, I managed to get the rest of the greenhouse done. It was nice and warm inside… which is a good thing.

Lego for gardeners...

One day soon it will be full of green things… hopefully plants and not aliens, grass clippings or Kermit the Frog (although that would be rather cool).

The fine weather we were having also inspired Alice and I to visit the just opened Castle Rock walk, which is right above our farm. We even got Theoden excited by the idea, and amazingly he managed to walk half the way up the mountain by himself before I had to migrate him to the back sling. That’s about 2.5km… not bad for a little one (he’s just turned two)!

There are places, wild places, that beckon to the soul

It was a bit of a hike and climb up to the top (we gained about 300m in altitude by the time we finished), but very nice rocks and formations to be experienced.

Arriving at Castle Rock

The shire has made a new observation platform at Castle Rock itself. So much for blending it into the natural bushland…

So shiney... the platform out along Castle Rock

But the view is rather impressive. Here you can see our farm (it’s in the middle of the photo)… note the “good” patch of olive trees (the dark green patch forward of our home) . Our plan at this stage is to keep these and clear the rest… but we will see what we will see.

The view of our farm from Castle Rock

And lastly, and most importantly, our son Theoden had his second birthday. Here he is enjoying his very unusal birthday “cake” (he does not like normal cake)… actually he only ate the M&M’s in the end… we still have most of the jelly in the fridge…

Theoden's birthday cake... Jelly, Cheezles and M&M's...

Well, that’s it for this month. Take care. Keep an eye on the government and don’t trade your freedoms for supposed “security”. Oh, and the moon may be hollow and full of reptilian aliens… cheers!

Fences, Fires, Drains and Gravel: April 2011 at Tanen

Well winter is coming our way all too soon… so as you can tell by this months title, April has been getting ready for the wet season while we can still do things outdoors.

Mid-Autumn is always my favourite time of year, the hot dry of summer giving away into the cool nights and fluctuating days of sun, cloud and drizzle. I always remember the poem by William Blake around now as I think it sums up this time of year so well.

O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stainèd
With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit
Beneath my shady roof; there thou may’st rest,
And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe,
And all the daughters of the year shall dance!
Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.
`The narrow bud opens her beauties to
The sun, and love runs in her thrilling veins;
Blossoms hang round the brows of Morning, and
Flourish down the bright cheek of modest Eve,
Till clust’ring Summer breaks forth into singing,
And feather’d clouds strew flowers round her head.

`The spirits of the air live on the smells
Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.’
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat;
Then rose, girded himself, and o’er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

I did have grand plans of becoming the Grim Reaper of Kikuyu this month, but demands of preparedness have postponed this until next month… so no photos as yet… and the joys and mysteries of peening a scythe blade will have to wait.

SO what has been happening, well lets get started shall we?

Our driveway, after all this time, has finally been repaired. No more dodging the furrows as we rocket up the hill to home for us anymore…. and we even have a place to park now that will not involve spinning tyres on mud come the rains. Luxury, sheer luxury.

Our new parking area... yay!

As is the nature of things though, getting that done made me realise that we were going to have to do something about the drainage from the roof of the shed… which was just going onto the ground. So, since the bobcat was there shifting gravel around, we had a bit of digging done…

Water drainage... hope it works...

I have actually put most of the drainage pipe in since that photo was taken and backfilled a bit… but the ground was still too hard to finish the end part… need some good, heavy rain to soften it up!

One of the more annoying things on the property has also been remedied. Until now (as we had sheep roaming around the lower paddock) we have had to open and close the top-gate each time we wanted to go out. Not good if it begins to rain heavily… so I got my act together and did the 400m of fence needed to section off the settlement zone and the cropping zone on the settlement plan.

Fencing is fun...

Theoden enjoyed all the fencing action as well…

Theoden attempting to fix Dad's loose screws...

And what would any good fencing story be without an action shot…

Rugged fencing action shot...

Our guest accommodation area also had some upgrades with the addition of fairy lights, which was an awe-inspiring sight when coming along Millinup Rd late at night… perhaps we can be in the running for the Christmas Lights competition next Christmas without even trying!

So pretty... can't resist... must head toward them...

The preparation for the coming winter continues with the installation (finally… it has been on the porch since we arrived) of our slow-combustion fire in the living room. The installation also led to the discovery that we have no insulation in our roof at all, the sellers lied on their disclosure statement when we purchased the property.

Ahhh... so toasty....

The Autumn weather here has also reduced the crazy-strong winds we have been having over the hotter months, which has been a nice change. Although we still have the odd night where we wonder if we are about to take off. I installed Theoden’s trampoline next to the guest accommodation, and the next day it was down in the front garden. I’ve since chained it to the ground, so hopefully it won’t move no-more.

The April work-fever also inspired me to build a woodshed to keep our firewood nice and dry. I even got a load of firewood on the back of the truck for it and stacked it in there. The guests in the accommodation from Perth have been enjoying their fireplace as a result, we still think it’s warm down here… so apart from a test burn in ours, it is still dormant…. however I do remember when we arrived here that it was damn cold, so I’m sure it will be getting a workout soon enough.

And so to finish… this months ethical musiing comes once again from Endgame. This quote comes from a discourse on the conflict experienced by people who seek to live with their landbase vs those that wish to exploit it. I invite you to consider your position and what are you willing to do to mak change?

“… those who value things and control more than life can be more likely to kill to gain things or control than if these values were reversed. Obviously: they [those in power] value things and control more than they do life. As we see. On the other hand, if we value life over control or things, we are less likely to kill even to defend life. As we also see. When groups holding these different values come into conflict this functional difference makes for a grotesquely uneven contest, or if you will allow me the language, battle.” Derrick Jensen, Endgame (p420)

Take a good look at our government peoples. Which side do you think they are on? Where do you think you will stand with them when the system begins to collapse? There are bad things afoot in the world right now. Make plans, keep safe.

Signing off for April. Peace, love and truth everyone.

Potatoes, Solar Energy and Spas: March 2011 at Tanen

I finally completed the solar energy system and we had the electricians wire it into the house… but all did not work out as planned as I managed to short out two of the batteries (note to self, do not work with 250 amps of DC when tired) and killed one… it was very pretty… had spots in my visison for a few minutes after the arcing finished… so now I am waiting for a new battery which I hope to collect mid April… so stay tuned for the next episode in the solar saga.

Regulator

The photo above is a close-up of the regulator. This monitors the batteries and charges them as they get low on amps to supply. Again notice the DC isolation switch to the right of the regulator. The black box beneath the regulator is the current shunt that allows the regulator to know how much power is being sucked out of the batteries. The switches to the left are on the AC / home side for circuit overload protection.

Solar Energy System

The top left device is the inverter that provides power to the house. The blue box in the middle is the regulator that controls the solar charging. The black objects on the shelves below are the batteries.

Junction Box

This junction box is where the power leads from the solar panels end up. Note the DC isolation switch below the junction box.

Meanwhile on the other self-sufficiency front our kitchen garden has errupted with potatoes, the spinach as mutated into something with seeds and the parsely has taken over it’s corner of Tanen. I am hoping to expand out garden beds next month…

We have been having potatoes for dinner for weeks now, and they are still very tasty.

Nom, nom, nom

Our long-awaited spa was finally collected and installed (the one we ordered before we came down here) and Alice, Theoden and myself have all been soaking our cares away… our B&B guests will be most appreciative I suspect.

Its a hard life but someone has to do it...

As you can see in the background of the above photo, the property is still bright green even now at the end of summer. The kikuyu is still growing well (sigh) and I have taken the step to order a scythe to start trying to get it under control. There will be photos of my new profession as the Grim Reaper of Kikuyu next month… and hopefully I will still have all appendages.

I just finished Endgame Volume 1: The Problem of Civilization by Derrick Jensen, which I highly recommend as possibly the best discourse on the problems of civilisation ever written. Life changing work, and I would rate it up there wih the Ringining Cedars of Russia series as books-that-mus-be-read. In a nutshell, the problem with all western-style civilisation is that it is explotive (due to its profit motivation), abusive to its members (profit / power motivations) and completely unsustainable. I am looking forward to the second book on how to bring it all down.

As per my previous two posts (http://revelationsky.org.au/blog/?p=81 and http://revelationsky.org.au/blog/?p=88) what we all need to do is stop giving our power away and start mending ourselves and our landbase. The recent evens in Japan are a direct result of allowing our power to be spent by those with no ethics, morality or empathy for life. Wake up.

I shall finish today with a quote from Derrick Jensen:

“When cancer kills those we love – when chemicals cause little girls to develop breasts and pubic hair, when pesticides make children stupid and sickly, the problem is not education. The problem has never been education. To believe that it is, is to buy into yet one more lie that keeps us from acting to protect ourselves.” (Endgame, p345)

Truth, love and peace folks.

Political Parties

“Political parties, like religions, are there to divide people and to work on their egos as they are tempted and encouraged to seek ‘power’ to ‘help those less fortunate than themselves’.   Many good people entering into party politics, setting out with the best of intentions, have allowed themselves to be corrupted and to become detached from ordinary people and that’s why we, who are seeking to find out the truth about everything, should be an all embracing grassroots movement and not, repeat NOT, a political party.   This is one lesson that my varied life has taught me as we enter into the final and most crucial phase of the world’s coming transition.  We do not need conventional, well paid ‘leaders’ with all their egos and hidden agendas, just decent and honest people with humility and a great sense of humour, who are prepared to encourage and motivate others, to serve others and who seek at all times wisdom, love and spiritual strength rather than a material and empty lifestyle which always results in others less fortunate than themselves being exploited and abused.”

Goats, Shopping and Ethics: January and Feburary 2011 at Tanen

Well look at that… two months have gone by and it just seems like I blinked. Time is subjective and relative of course, so perhaps I just did blink and here I am… it’s all just a matter of where your conciousness is focused.

So, what has been happening then… why the unusual silence and inactivity… well read on and become enlightened…

December was all about getting ready for the arrival of our new non-human freinds on the land… our three goats Coco, Latte and Leo (the buck). I collected Coco and Latte from Williams at the service station, meeting their previous owner at this half-way point. They were both hits with passing motorists when emplying their i-am-a-goat-love-me ray.

Introduced to their new enclosure they immediately got down to the thing that goats love to do more than anything… eating…

After the initial excitement wore off, we then discovered that Coco is a jumping goat… who can leap a 1.5m fence at a single bound. Frankly I was horrified after all the work of building the new fences and my plans for goat containment… Latte just could not be bothered (allthough she did try getting over the main gate and ended up with her foot caught in the mesh… but being cleverer than Coco she did not try again).

With Coco the goat wanting to get into the house with us (Anglo Nubian goats are renowned for their people loving personallity), I had to move to Plan B… the electric fence… which was another learning curve on engergisers, insulators, double-insulated wire and earthing systems.

As we moved into the end of January our holiday to visit family in Hong Hong was suddenly apon us and the goat zapping project had to go on hold. We had organised house sitters that were happy to look after the goats and our home while we were away, so this freed us up to take little Theoden to meet his grandmother and give Alice a shopping fix… and shop she did. I have never done so much shopping for clothes ever… of course in tow behind Alice (I would prefer the faster hunt, bag and back to the lair approach myself)… but with the events of both environmental and econonomic collapse looming closer having a good supply of clothes for Theoden and ourselves is a good investment for the future.

So, although not much progress has been made on moving Tanen forward as a sustainable community and farm, I have realised a something now that we have been here for a few months…

By all the saints, it is windy here. Really, really, really windy. All my poor fruit trees get their leaves stripped off and anything left outside that is not heavy enoough ends up down in the corner of the farm. In Permaculature we are taught to look at problems as being a deficiency of something or a use for something.

So, being proactive about the high levels of air movement, I can see that we have a deficiency of trees to act as a windbreaks and also we have a resource for power generation. I have to start on the windbreaks as a priority now as the failure of the orchard due to the dual effects of wind and kykuyu grass has been most depressing… and when time and money permit the introduction of a wind turbine I think will make an excellent investment. More to come…

On the other fronts I have come to three ethical guidelines about my place here on the land and within the greater environment and community, which I shall share here for your consideration in your own lives.

1: Anything that does not contain life is not worth spending time on.

Man has ended up in a position where we now spend most of our time engaged with things that contain no living life force, or spark of the creative divine. They are dead. Given that our purpose here on earth is to communicate with the divine to bring our own understanding of life and conciousness to a higher level, the spending energy on that which is dead is a terrible mistake.

2: Anything that causes harm can not be supported in any way.

Unless all of humanity comes to this realisation soon our very existence on our mother earth is threatened. This applies to all aspects of our lives: physically, communally and spiritually.

This awakening has put me in the difficult position of being unable to support the system that surrounds and enslaves us currently… as it seeks to do harm all things through its agenda of harm to the planet trough expoitation of resources. Harm to the environment through the seeking of profit. Harm to the people through the imposition of force and policy to ensure fear, and the farming of their energy to fuel its progress.

We as humanity must, must, must take a stand. We have to say NO to anything that causes harm. If you have children ponder this. Will you be able to look them in the eye in the years to come and say “Yes, I know that we poisoned the environment, erroded all your rights to freedom and created this mess for you… but I was just too busy to do anything about it.”

3: Anything that does not originate from an act of love will end in conflict.

Operating from love is the only way forward for Man. When we can give in an act of love, without expectation and freely, then our reality will mirror that of the divine… truely a heaven-on-earth. Operating from love alone will demolish the dead world of commerce. This is not easy for us to do, as the system propogates commerce which is the opposite of giving freely, but we must begin… just like in Permaculture we all have to start small and spread outward from there. Ponder this when you have time.

4: Operating in Limited liabilty is not an option.

This ties in with ethic one as well. But first you need some background to understand what I mean by this ethic.

When we were born our parents unknowing created what is know as a C’EST TUI QUE trust (pronounced set–a–kay), which is our birth certificate. This ensures that all our operations within the system are are considered to be a fiction, a concept or idea expressed as a name, a symbol. That person (corporation) on the birth certificate has no consciousness; it is a juristic person, a name/word written on a piece of paper.

You (the baby) are what is called the collateral or the corpus (body) of the Trust. Your
labour is the energy you generate as a Living Being. However, as a baby, you are deemed “Invalid (in–valid/dis–abled) and Incompetent, and even though your Mother Birthed you, she agrees to be the trustee of the Trust (by her signature) which was settled (created–Settlor) by the Federal Government, so you (your body) is entrusted to her for safe keeping until the age of eighteen.

The government then uses the negotiable instrument (the Birth Certificate). They “pledge” your “Labour for your Lifetime” as its “secured asset”, and proceeds to “assure” (different from insure) your Labour against it’s (the government’s) debt, and it subsequently gets an “underwriter” (aka the Reserve Bank of Australia, which is privately owned by the way) to insure your Labour.

The underwriter determines a figure (based on your Mother and Father’s occupation, that is why it is required on the Birth Certificate) from your labour and it takes out a “Bond” which is held at the Bank, and money is then issued and put into circulation based on this figure. This is then used in the fractional reserve banking system to generate more debt and ensure that any country involved in the scam can never escape. There are lots of resources out there on this if you want to know more (but start with the Zietgiest movies for digestablility).

So if you still reading, let me bring this back to ethic four. When we deal with “the system” we are operating through a third party, our trust (also known as a strawman). The system works on limited liability, as you are always representing a dead entity in transactions (which also disagrees with the very first ethic I stated about life) with it. This permits the system to both govern us and allow people to not take responsibility. This, for the surival of ouselves and our world, has to stop!

All of us have to operate as first person as only a first person may take full and total responsibilty for ourselves and our actions. We must refuse to deal with any anyone or anything that is not also operating as a first person and prepared to take full responsibilty for their actions and themselves. Spend some time thinking about our law (policy enforcement) system and this concept.

When we begin to operate only as a first person, combined with ethic two of do no harm and ethic three of operating from a position of love, that Man will reach his greatest potential and happiness.

Food for thought.

Peace, love and truth to you all.
